Religious Aspects
Question: What is the Pink Dot Movement and Religious Aspectrs ? Answer : Presentation Since the day of Independence, Singapore has been one of the most various nations with respect to ethnicity, strict networks, and dialects under one, national character. After the British left the nation, it has become the home for differing strict and ethnic gatherings. The nation is for the most part known for its resilience towards the assorted variety. Be that as it may, even in the past the religion and race were two essential issues that have become a danger to the social attachment in Singapore. In this manner with a few conflicts over culture, philosophy and virtues make strain in the nation, particularly over the privileges of lesbian, gay, androgynous and transgender (LGBT) rights (Wang, 2016). The Pink Dot development has begun an arbitrary night of May 2009, where around 2,000 500 individuals assembled, wearing Pink and all were holding pink umbrellas, for shaping a pink human arrangement, which was later known as the Pink Dot Movement in Singapore. Later it turned into a custom which is rehashed each year, and the participation rate has expanded with the course of time. The development has encircled itself as the genuine activity of the LGBT residents of the nation as they need to guarantee the equivalent rights as the heteros in the nation. The Reaction of Religious Communities towards the Pink Dot Movement Since the start of the Pink Dot development, it has become the lead occasion of the gay network in Singapore. It pulled in the media inclusion, however it additionally made a few contentions consistently while it was being held. This occasion was not just a gay motorcade, however it propelled a few comparative pride marches in USA and UK too. With the dynamic associations and numerous people who bolster the gay rights in the nation, the motorcade has praised the day of acknowledgment of the sexual assorted variety in Singapore (Tan, 2015). Presently the development has likewise pulled in a few business organizations as it has picked up the media consideration too. Be that as it may, the way was never smooth for the development, and there have been a few resistances to this development. In any case, in 2014, a nearby Muslim educator Ustaz Noor Deros had started a development that can broadly be viewed as the counter development of the Pink Dot development. He had named the development as the Wear White' development and called upon all the Muslim resident of Singapore to help his development and to wear white when they are going to the week by week supplications and the extraordinary Ramadan petitions on each saturdays also. He has requested to follow the development as an image of supporting the conventional family esteems (Tan, 2017). This development began on June 28th, 2014, on exactly the same day of the Pink Dot development happened that year. Later around the same time an ace family' supporter and Christian minister, Lawrence Khong from the system of Love Singapore houses of worship gave another explanation where he called upon all the Christians of his system to be attired also in white while they are going to their faith gatherings on that end of the week. The pastor Lawrence Khong has pushed for another professional family development with all the individuals from his houses of worship arrange in charge. He has named his battle as We don white' and approached all the residents of Singapore, paying little mind to religion and race to sport white on the fourth and fifth of June to help the star normal family esteems. All these enemy of pink dab developments were situated on a similar date as the pink spot development in 2016. Clergyman Khong have stressed each time that the wear white development was not straightforwardly in inconsistency to the pink spot, yet he has characterized his development not being an immediate pushing back to the LGBT development in the nation (Chiu et al., 2016). This wear white development has additionally pulled in the media inclusion and is effectively present in the web based life to draw in more supporters. Through this development the traditionalist populace needs the LGBT activists to realize that they have most of the populace who will put forth their best attempt to push the LGBT development back. Or maybe they need to retaliate the liberal philosophy and the gay way of life that legitimately repudiates the law and enactments of the nation. The enactments, however they likewise accept, that the LGBT development transparently challenges the center national estimations of the nation and the perspective on most of the populace who have confidence in marriage, open profound quality and family structure. Meanwhile, another organizer of the development had made a stride back differentiating Khnag's battling saying that his endeavors are progressively coordinated towards the instructive projects of the youthful Muslim populace. Be that as it may, these developments likewise got a blended response from everybody. Huge Role of Religion in deciding Morality, Identity and Politics Every general public has a dominating social sense, particularly with their strict roots. Religion in Singapore is for the most part described by the different strict convictions and various ethnicities who start from various nations. A few kinds of exploration have demonstrated Singapore being the most strictly assorted nation. In Singapore, Buddhism is the most followed religion, aside from that, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Taoism are there (Oswin, 2014). There is consistently a cozy connection between the connection and the general public. Many accept that religion just occurs in the strict places, for example, houses of worship, sanctuaries or mosques, however with a closer perspective on the strict parts of the general public, it could be comprehended that both the religion and society are mutually dependent and interconnected. As a general rule, religion is natural in a few parts of the general public, and the strict qualities influence the zones like social qualities, legis lative issues in an unavoidable way. Regardless of being the home of various strict convictions, the effect of religion in the cultural existence of Singapore is noteworthy in various manners. For example, it should be the mainstream nation and it is dubious of the strict associations as the greater part of the exercises infringe into legislative issues and social qualities (Tan, 2016). Habitually, there isn't any severe partition between the both, for example, the ongoing issue over the Pink Dot development and the segment 377A where the preservationist Christian and Muslim gatherings voiced in resistance. Notwithstanding, the strict teaching ought not be that much equipped enough to affect the status of the state. Whenever took a gander at intently, there are two parts of the strict tenet in Singapore. There is a broad strict environmentalism that requires a methodology of multi confidence if most of the populace should be imparted. Notwithstanding, there is additionally a natural strict methodology which can't be actually associated with the political activity of the state since for the most part legislative issues and religion act independently in Singapore (Lim, 2013). In this manner it should be progressively engaged while passing on the ecological morals to the strict populace. In Singapore, the religion and legislative issues are enormously associated, regardless of whether the legislature has demanded it being a mainstream state all through. Nonetheless, making it, a mainstream state can hugy affect the legislative issues of Singapore. Secularism can have two unique structures when it is looked from a political perspective, the first being the suppersessionist' model that characterizes religion as the direct inverse of religion. This type of secularism is regularly seen as the activist secularism (Tan, 2016). This type of secularism can for the most part be found in the European articulations of secularism. Be that as it may, in Singapore, the legislature follows an unobtrusive secularism which can likewise be characterized the counter religious, however it isn't hostile to religion. Along these lines it dismisses the political and ideological strength by any strict conviction and their supporters; be that as it may, it acknowledges the value of religion in the general public. As per the Constitution of Singapore, it secures the strict opportunity of every resident. The state accepts that everybody has the option to rehearse their strict convictions, and this privilege has been reached out to where the strict practice as well as acknowledges the proliferation of a specific religion (Mendes, 2015). Along these lines it very well may be seen that in spite of considering the state common the province of Singapore totally recognizes the hugeness of religion in the general public. Moreover, the strict parts of the Singaporean populace hugy affect the cultural viewpoint, which can be found in the part of condemning the segment 377A and the pink speck development happening in Singapore. Beginning as a little assembling of scarcely any individuals in 2009, the pink dab development has been commending the freedom to adore paying little heed to any sexual direction. Throughout the years the development has received the non-fierce standpoint towards the gay rights in the nation. Wearing pink identifications the development has spread all through the nation being one of the greatest get-togethers in Singapore. In any case, the development has made a point where it raises the issue that whether everyone of Singapore is seeing the occasion as a social war or the war of ethical quality where the issues with respect to belief system, personality, and conduct become the essential ones (Wilson, 2015). The strict gatherings have challenged the LGBT rights guaranteeing that homosexuality is against the customary family esteems. The sport white' crusade was the primary interfaith collaboration that was bolstered by both the Christian and Muslim populace of the nation where the pioneers of both the religion have requested that their supporters don white while they go to the congregation of the mosque. This issue with LGBT rights has uncovered the various preservationist layers in the Singaporean culture. It shows the unmistakable division between the common and strict gatherings as well as between the strict nonconformists and the moderates and features the distinction be

The Black death was a devastating global plague that stroke Asia and Europe in the mid 1300s. It is said that the black plague arrived in Europe when ships from the Black sea docked at the Sicilian port of Messina. Most sailors aboard were dead, and those still alive were gravely ill. ââ¬Ëââ¬â¢The plague hit hard and fast. Donââ¬â¢t waste time! Our writers will create an original "The Conflict between Science and Religion" essay for you Create order People lay ill little more than two or three days and died suddenlyâ⬠¦.He who was well one day was dead the next and being carried to his graveââ¬â¢Ã¢â¬â¢ (Carmelite friar Jean de Venette,14th century).Over the next few years the black plague killed more than 20 million people in Europe.Today, scientists understand that the Black Death, now known as the plague, is spread by a bacillus called Yersinia pestis. (The French scientist Yersin discovered this germ at the top of the nineteenth century.). At the time of the renaissance no one knew how to treat this disease, how it was transmitted, or how to prevent it.The disease affected goats, chickens, cows, pigs, and sheeps as well as people. Since the origin of the disease was a mysterious phenomena, many people believed that the black death was a kind of divine punishment for the sins against God.By this logic people back then thought that the only way to overcome this was to win Godââ¬â¢s forgiveness.People at the time lost faith in God for they prayed with all their heart but those prayers were not heard,ââ¬Å"God is deaf nowadays and will not hear us. And for our guilt he grinds smart men to dirt,â⬠wrote the late fourteenth century English ecclesiastic, William Langland, in his epic ââ¬Å"Piers farmhand. There has always been a constant battle that we constantly create with Science and Religion since one is based on common sense and ââ¬Ëââ¬â¢probable factsââ¬â¢Ã¢â¬â¢ and the other one is based upon faith and beliefs that a miracle is going to happen but like Russell M. Nelson once stated ââ¬Ëââ¬â¢There is no conflict between science and religion.Conflict only arises from an incomplete knowledge of either science or religion, or both. People back at the renaissance era saw the black plague as a punishment of God since they didnââ¬â¢t have something or anyone to blame that on, but what happened is that they started to lose faith which allowed them to look for another alternative way to find a solution or the cause of the plague and that is how science has been constantly evolving and improving and faith is becoming lost since we think that we know everything there is to know and like Ishmael stated in chapter 10 Men believe they have the power/knowledge to control the world and everything in it, therefore not need anything from the Gods.

Essay on America and the Great Depression - 1882 Words
America and the Great Depression 1. Compare the ideas behind the protest movements of Huey Long and Upton Sinclair. The Era of the Great Depression was one of both desperation and hope. Americans were desperate for a change, desperate for anything to come along that may improve their situation, yet hopeful that the light at the end of the tunnel was near. For many of those living in poverty during the 1930s, the ââ¬Å"radicalâ⬠leftist movements seen throughout the country appeared to be alternatives to the sometimes ineffective programs of FDRââ¬â¢s New Deal. Two such programs, Huey Longââ¬â¢s ââ¬Å"Share Our Wealthâ⬠plan and Upton Sinclairââ¬â¢s End Poverty in California (EPIC) were fairly popular, mainly for their appealing alternatives to theâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦Longââ¬â¢s program became quite popular nationally, at one point the Share Our Wealth Society claimed to have nearly 4.7 million members. Such support only fueled Longââ¬â¢s fire, aspirations for the 1936 presidency. The threat Long presented to the Democratââ¬â¢s reign in congress was le gitimate. At one time, President Roosevelt named Long ââ¬Å"one of the two most dangerous men in Americaâ⬠. (Biles 123) Though his assassination in 1935 removed the threat of his possible candidacy, the strong support and influence of his followers caused the Roosevelt administration to move slightly more to the left. Upton Sinclair, a former socialist and founder of the EPIC plan, registered with the Democratic party in 1933 so he could run as a major party candidate in the 1934 California election for governor. (Polenberg 120) Though he lost the election, EPIC supporters succeeded in gaining 30 seats in California legislature, which ultimately pushed the state governor to endorse New Deal programs. (Biles 120) Sinclair, well known for a number of books he wrote (which often attacked the ââ¬Å"evils of a capitalistic societyâ⬠), based his EPIC plan on the idea of creating ââ¬Å"an economy based on use rather than on profit.â⬠(Polenberg 120) EPIC called for the seizure of idle land in California and its transformation into a network of cooperatives to be run and managed by those without jobs. Here in this research, the researcher will provide a brief literature review to understand the importance of Holacracy organizational structure in managing modern organization along with its implemen tation consequences. Developing the research questions, the researcher will follow a methodology by incorporating several tools and techniques. By developing a Gantt chart, the researcher will estimate a timeline to accomplish the task maintaining a structured approach. Literature Review An effort given towards accomplishes the common goal is all about organizational and thus, structuring it effectively is a critical factor for the business success. According to Sakalas and Venskus (2015), organizational structure signifies how a particular tasks are divided, allocated and coordinated in organizations. Based in the specific roles and responsibilities, the authorities are delegated and assigned. By a proper design of organization, managers evaluates six core elements which are involved in decision making: Work specialization, Departmentalization, Chain of command, Span of control, Centralization and decentralization and Formalization. Organizations commonly adapt five core structures of organization: Flat structure, Hierarchical structure, Flatter structure, Flatarchies and Holacracy structure.By following the layout of a pyramid, every employee in an organization is subordinate to someone else under the hierarchical structure of organization. Here the authority and l evel of responsiveness are being valued and employees perceive level of leaderships within an organization. Hanks (2015) however, contradicts that rivalry between departments may inflame as each department makes decisions its individual interests rather than the organizations as a whole. On the other hand, the structure of flat organization supervises staffs less while promoting their enhanced involvement in the decision making process. According to Lemons (2015), this form of structure elevates the levels of responsibilities of employees in the organization, However, Foster (2016) argued that flat structure restricts the long-term growth of organization because a generalized approach has been taken while delegation of authorities instead of specialized approach. In case of the Flatter organization, managers tend to foster greater communication between employees. This can be considers a less bureaucratic approach however, the roles of various departments can also be imprecise to cer tain extend in case of flatter organization (Khan 2015). On the contrary, Flatarchies considers a dynamic organizational structure. According to Shafritz, Ott and Jang (2015),Flatarchies lies between hierarchical and flat organizations. Under this structure, company generally operates within an existing structure however often allow employees to suggest and then run with new ideas. Several literatures identifies as convenient structure where a modern treatment of approach has been taken in decision making of an organization. The word Holacracy is a derivative of holon focused on autonomy rather than defined tasks, roles or job titles. The design of Holacracy was developed by Brian Robertson a software engineer, in 2007. By enforcing more efficient way of working, the Holacracy is also characterized by corporations doing away with managers, job titles and having consensual decision making. Robertson has taken the idea which was borrowed from W.L. Gore, who was pioneered this in the pe riod of 1950 at The Morning Star Company. During the period, Holacracy-like structure was developed as an alternative to a top-down hierarchical, organizational design. According to Sawada (2015), Holacracy is a new approach of running a corporation that removes power from the management hierarchy and distributes it across transparent roles. Several modern organizations have shown their interest in Holacracy considering an effective organizational structure and mention the following attributes:Flexible Organizational Structure (with clear roles and accountabilities)New format of meeting (action-driven and eliminating analysis)More Autonomy to Individuals and Teams (Gets opportunities to resolve issue individually and cut through bureaucracy)Unique decision making Process (Evolve continuously the structure of organizations)Under the Holacracy organizational structure, teams or circles are being decentralized and featured individual work in precise functions or projects. Each circle r uns democratically and transparently specifying details and procedures on how things are managed and how long decisions are being made. Circles are focused on tasks that required to be accomplished, drawing of those with particular skills and allowing individuals to be flexible. Once an assignment needs more staff, jobs can be re-distributed or more hires can be made. Hussain and Huganir (2016) opines within Holacracy, everyone is seen a leader. Under this approach, an organizational effectiveness is being enhanced because individuals become entrepreneurs in their specialist circles and are given the power to change the organization. This approach is effective because people have a clear understanding about their roles and responsibilities and corporations tend to expand organically. An effort is made to make everything explicit and employee has become core decision makers in each area. Thus, the authorities are being distributed and superior execution of programmatic work processes being executed. In holacratic organizations, issues are resolved by individuals after identifying the problems by writing them down and resolving them systematically. According to Hunter (2015) Holacratic organization gives the opportunity to work under the clear environment by removing extraneous variables so that people can focus only on work. By this self-organized approach, decision making is encouraged and a looking for concern is discouraged. As per the opinion of Thurshika and Andrew (2016), roles are segregated and individuals are assigned and reassigned to jobs at the time of project initiation. For example, Stirmans organization, a medium owned by Twitter has embraced the Holacratic working style a shave Zappos, a retailer of shoe. By following this approach, both the organizations has successfully empowers individuals by allowing their own decisions and thus, choices were beneficial for the organizations. Since then both the organizations receives positive feedbacks due to produces solutions to problems fast. However, there are much criticism has been found in the literature mentioning that too much focuses on work, it often missed out the actual individuals and not the task that required to be completed (Weigelt and Miller 2013). On the contrary, Propfe (2015) suggests people have multiple roles in Holacracy, often works in different teams and those role descriptions are constantly updated by the team who are actually doing the operation. Thus, Holacracy allows people a lot of freedom to express their creative talents and the corporation have the opportunity to take advantage of those skills which never unfolded before by any of the above mentioned organizational structure. Under the traditional structure, companies assigned a job to each individual where people often find difficulties because job descriptions are imprecise, often irrelevant and rarely updated. In contrast, roles are definite around the work instead of people and updated regularly by the approach of Holacracy. Furthermore, authority is truly distributed whereas managers loose delegated authority under the conventional organizational structure. Under Holacracy, every team self-organizes whereas the traditional companies are rarely revisited and mandated from the top. Moreover, rules are visible in Holacracy organizations and each employee is bound by the same rules. By the above discussion, this can be said that the work under Holacracy is more structured those conventional organizational structures. The teams of organization have the authority to decide internally how to provide the best results. With full of operational freedom, this replaces the conventional hierarchy with a series of interconnected but autonomous teams. Thus, these increase operational capabilities of organizations.Synthesizing multiple sources to present the unique argument, research questions are designed by the researcher. It further investigates the rationale of the research topics. B ased on the research questions, the research methodologies have been designed and helped to explore the end research outcomes. In this research study, the following research questions are developed by the researcher:How does Holacracy create influence to organizations? What are the advantages and disadvantages of the Holacracy organizational structure? How does Holacracy structure being designed by the organization? What are the difference between Holacracy and traditional organizational hierarchy? The above mentioned research questions evaluates the importance of the Holacracy in the modern business organizations. By answering these questions the researcher can determine its impact and understand the implementations approach. The methodology of research is all about the systematic process used to collect information and data for decision makings. There are different tools and techniques are used in the research methodology sections such as surveys, interviews, publication research and other research techniques. Based on the research methodology technique the researcher will identify suitable data collection methods to explore the research topic. Here it is important to select an appropriate research design method for exploring the research topic more effectively and efficiently. The researcher will come across three types of research designs for examining the effectiveness of Holacratic organization structure. These three methods are explanatory, exploratory and descriptive. By the method of exploratory research, the researcher will focus on the discovery of ideas and insights an opposed to collecting statistically accurate data. The exploratory research design will highlight the importance of Holacratic organizational structure, potential challenges, alternative course of actions and prioritizing areas that require statistical research. On the other hand, descriptive research will explore the detail analysis of the research topic. This descriptive method allows the researcher to know about the nuisances regarding the research topic. Lastly, the explanatory research method is quantitative in nature as well as preplanned and structure in design. However, the exploratory research design is the most effective research design method for extensive research of the topic of the discussion and this method will also be used in this research study. There are two approaches are used in the research study: inductive and deductive. This study will follow the inductive approach as it evaluates relevant information and specific data which will explore to get the desired research outcome. Here the researcher will come across various theories for investigating the topic of the research in a comprehensive manner. For this research several data, practitioners guides will be explored so it is quite justifiable for the research to take the inductive approach. 5.0 Gantt Chart:Research Process:The research process is a systematic approach to accomplish the resear ch work within the schedules timeframe (Pickard 2012). By the following the fundamental steps, the research will get the research outcome. In this study of the research, the researcher primarily selects the research topic. In this context, the researcher will select the Holacratic organizational structure to evaluate its impacts and other implementation details related to this research topic. After this, the researcher will develop thee research aim and objectives to articulate the research outcomes. Based on this, the entire study will be structured. In addition, the research needs to develop research questions depending on the objectives. The research outcomes hypothetically analyzed the situation and all the detailed versions will be incorporated in this research study. In the third step, the research conducts a detailed literature review by incorporating several theories relating to the research topic. By evaluating several observations, explanations and previous studies, te res earch gather a detailed knowledge about the research topic. For doing the extensive research, various, books, journals, online studies, articles will be used by the researcher. However, more data will be required for detailed analysis and these data collection method is required to be selected in order to analyze the corresponding consequences such as advantages and difficulties associated with the implementing Holacratic approach within the organization. Therefore, the fourth stage would be to incorporate the appropriate data collection. There are two types of data can be collected in the research study: primary and secondary. In this research, however, the primary data will be collected by conducting the survey questionnaires. In the next stage, the gather data will be analyzed and evaluated. After the data analysis, the research will accomplish the task and the final results will be obtained. However entire research process needs to be followed and a systematic approach shall be taken seriously.Data Collection and Analysis method: Data collection: Success of conducting research depends over the outcomes that are gained by the researcher at the end of the research (Palinkas et al. 2015). In that case a sufficient data needs to be collected and analyzed. There are two types of methods are available to gather data at the result of the research such as primary and secondary data collection method. To explore the primary data, the data regarding the research topic or relevant to the research topic will be accumulated from the proposed respondents and key professionals. By observing methods, in-depth interview and survey through questionnaires are the common approaches to collect data through primary data collection process. Most of the researcher prefers this approach because a direct communication with the respondents will be established which will help to reach at the result of the research. On the other hand, data collection on the basis of previous data and various research scholars articles is all about secondary data collecti on method. However, the best practice approach needs to be selected by the researcher considering the research topic. In that case, several types of approaches include case study, documentation review, previous projects, and articles and so on. Under this method, the research further can exploit the information which is available on company websites. In this research study, the researcher will explore both primary and secondary data to accumulate sufficient information so that this research gets the enough resources for evaluation. In the primary data collection section, the researcher will conduct the survey questionnaires and in-depth interviews. The practitioners or adapters of Holacratic organization structure will be chosen as the research respondents whose response will be collected and recorded. Bu reviewing previous data and information, on the other hand, will be collected to gather more and more knowledge regarding the research topic. Data analysis: Data analysis consists with qualitative and quantitative methods (O'Leary 2013). Here in this research, a mixed method will be analyzed. Data reliability and accuracy will be enhanced by utilizing both qualitative and quantitative data. Accumulating data from the management people of Australian organizations will be accumulated by the qualitative research. On the other hand, personal interviews will be arranged to conduct the qualitative research (Taylor, Bogdan and DeVault 2015). Here 50 management people from different designations will be selected as proposed responded and their responses will be analyzed. In this way, the researcher will get the number of favorable and unfavorable responses. 8.0 Expected Research OutcomesAfter exploring the ranges of data and information, the expected research outcomes will be developed. By extensive data collection and research analysis procedures, the researcher will be able to provide the brief knowledge if Holacracy. This will help to underst and the impacts and practicing approaches under the Holacracy organizational structure. Furthermore, the practitioner will be able to understand relevant challenges regarding the implementation of Holacracy structure from the conventional hierarchy. By considering ethical approaches, the company will get the ultimate benefits of Holacratic work culture and enhance the organizational efficiencies. Within Holacracy, the researcher would identify issues by having consensual decision making. References: Foster, P.A., 2016.
